Re: How much is this muzzleloader worth?
This seems like a bit low and somebody probably will buy it quickly but on my traditional muzzleloader forum in the classified ads there is one for $225.00. But since they don't make them anymore in a .58 it could be worth all the way up to maybe $350.00. And to answer you question harry b the sporterized cabelas (investarms) hawken has a recoil pad and checkering on the stock with steel furniture I believe. If I already had a good .50 caplock halfstock rifle I would buy the .58 I described but that is a lot of lead for plinking around and the guys I shoot with at rendezvous and shoot steel plinking targets with might get mad at me for shooting that big of a gun. But if I were you I'd buy the gun since it is special and production .58s are becoming hard to find.
