Take it from someone who grinds alot of meat, go with the bigger grinder. It may seem overkill if you don't use it on a regular basis, but you'll be glad you have it when you need to start to grind bigger portions. The smaller ones do fine for one or two family meals (at once), but if you wanted to make say 50 lbs of sausage to last you a couple of months, the big one will pay off nicely.
