Favorite non hunting revolver or pistol.
Here's a thread for handgunners. Many of us like to shoot revolvers, pistols, those that are not heavy, bulky, and ones that throw your arm out of whack. I have shot a Ruger .45,and I liked that one,but never bought one.I bought a S & W .38 special model 15 that will be my favorite one to shoot so far.I guess until I get a .22 LR/.22 mag, that will do.I haven't yet shot my Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag.,but I plan on shooting them both next week. Maybe this week when I go to Oklahoma. I'll take one of them with me anyway. I think if I do get a semi auto,I might want a .22 LR sillohette pistol. What kind do you shoot that you don't hunt with?

Re: Favorite non hunting revolver or pistol.
Haven't done any handgun hunting. As far as what's in my safe, my favorite is a S&W 19-2. Hot 357s will let you know they're there, but are still fun and light 38s make for a great time plinking and paper punching. Second is a taurus judge. It's nothing special, but I always get a kick out of owning it!

Re: Favorite non hunting revolver or pistol.
My dad has a High Standard Sport King 22 lr auto. That thing is a blast to shoot it only has a 4 inch barrel but it will out shoot my Ruger MKII any day. It feels so good in the hand that when you aim its like pointing your finger at the target. I need to find one for myself but they come at a premium price.

Re: Favorite non hunting revolver or pistol.
I carry at least one handgun all the time and often use that for whatever pest needs shooting if that counts as "hunting." If not, then in revolvers its kind of a toss up between an 1860 Colt replica, a S&W No 3 "New Model Russian" in 44 Russian and a Webley Mk VI Service in 455. Semi-autos I vacilate between any of my duty guns: Springfield XDs in 45 ACP and 40 S&W, Browning/SIG 220 in 45 ACP, Kimber Match II with Marvel 22 LR upper, S&W 41, and High Standard 106 series Supermatic Trophy Military, and a High Standard Olympic Military in 22 Short. I have a 22 LR, single shot Hammerli 105 Free pistol that I shoot a fair bit too.

Re: Favorite non hunting revolver or pistol.
S&W 4" .357
Rides on my hip... day in day out.
There are a ton of pistoles I'd like, and I have others ...
this one just hits the things I want to so with me she goes.
I also have a few TC's, but being quite alot bigger, they don't get the call as often.

Re: Favorite non hunting revolver or pistol.
I carry a Model 331 S&W, .32 H&R Mag for pests and general fun. It is about a noisy as a .22 WRM with little recoil, despite weighing only 12 ounces, and hits harder with a larger bullet than the .22WRM. I would buy a .327 Federal Magnum if I could find one. For everyting else, you can't beat the old .45 Long Colt. I have a Vaquero that carries well and does the job.

For less than lethathl (volume) I shoot a 158gr cast wc 38+p++ type loading using 2400 from a .357 case ... pluss a wee bit of corn meal to get 105% load density. still dirty as can %^&* be but it's easier on the ears.
