http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_forming The case on the right is the parent case, the case in the center is after being run through a sizing die on a reloading press, and the case on the left is the finished product after fire forming. Sizing the case in a die helps to form the case a little at a time, then using fire forming to finish, as the parent case would not fit into the chamber to fire form the case all at once.
The finished case, a .284 Achilles, would be an example of a rebated rim wildcat. The rebated rim part means the rim of the case is smaller than the case body. The .300 Ultra Mag is a rebated case also, where as the .30-06/.308 family of cases are not rebated rim.
