Hey all,
While shooting my Triumph yesterday I noticed it took alot of force to get the sabot down the barrel and seated, my palm is still sore, is this normal ??
My father inlaw is looking into purchasing a Triumph but after seeing me load it hes not sure he could.

I do usually clean between shots, can some lube of some sort be used ?

Thats just a typical Thompson Center!!LOL The only one that was not tight was the new Pro Hunter Encore. Were you using TC Sabots?

I have had some luck not buying the 30 count pack...I think they are not the same quality as the smaller packs...maybe I am wrong....also I have bought either Knight or hornady sabots and they load a little easier. Just put the TC bullet in the sabot. Try the new superglides from TC or the Harvester's crush rib...they are on sale here.

I have a Knight rifle which is also hard to load. I have found that the Hornady Low Drag Sabots with the SST bullets load much easier and are as accurate as the Shockwaves. I belive the SST's are pretty much the same bullet as the Shockwaves. Another opition you might try is Power Belt bullets.

try different sabot/bullet combos. I have had barrels that I couldn't use .452 bullets in then went to .451 bullets anda different sabot an loaded easily.
Buy yourself a egg shaped lead fishing sinker..push it thru your barrel from the front down to the plug with a cleaning rod...measure the widest marks on the groooves an lands then you'll know exactly what size bullet/sabot to use.
In some case such as Hornady it takes a different sabot for 240 gr bullets than a 300 gr and the packaging will tell you which to use.
The best advice I can give you is go find a few buddies whom shoot different bullets/sabots and bum a couple off of each of them...then head out to the range. don't fret over the groups just shoot them an reload...you'll soon figure out which you prefer and which you can load easily.
