The Omega is hands down the best muzzleloader I have ever shot! I use a Hornady 300gr SST/120gr of loose Triple 7 FFF powder/winchester 777 primer. I chronographed it at 2043fps. I shot a 1.25" 3-shot groups at 100yds. I sight it about 2 1/2" high @ 100. At that sighting it is also dead on a 20 yards if your scope center is about 1 3/4" above the center of the bore.
Yards 20 40 60 80 100 120 140 160 180 200 220 240
Bullet 0 1.2 2.1 2.6 2.6 2.2 1.2 -.3 -2.3 -4.9 -8.3 -12.3
As you can see it give straight at shooting to 200 yards

At 100 yds im getting 1 1/2 in groups 5 shot and it opens up to 2 1/2 to 3 in for 10 shots no cleaning between shots or anything. I did that to see how many shots i could get if i went on a hunting trip or something. The 8th 9th and 10th shot were a bear to load make sure your ram rod is marked when you get the load you are going to use so in the heat of the hunt you will know that your bullet is fully seated. The great thing with 777 is after all that shooting 3 to 5 patches with just water and right back to zero with a clean bore. Hope that helps and get ready to become hooked after i got my omega I don't even get out my rifles for deer hunting hear at home 7 of last 10 deer to the omega with one on a trip to northern Maine 120 in 8 point dressed 155 what a rush tracking them with a mz.

I have shot the 295 AT 295 hp and the 348 hp and they all shot very good for me. I have taken deer with all 3 as well so it is up to you. Myself I'm shooting the 348's as my weight of choice and its the only one i'm getting exit holes with on deer. Hope this helps and feel free ask anymore ?'s

When I shoot muzzleloader I employ the same line of thinking to it as I do archery. I practice at the greater distance (muzzleloader being 100 yards) so that when I have the 40 or 50 yard shot (or beyond) out to and including 100 yards, it makes it a seemingly easier shot.

I'm a newbee to ML & BP so I need some help... I reciently bought a Remington Genesis from Cabela's and am have a fair amount of problems sighting it in. I have tried different charges (100 & 150 gr Pyodox pellets) an different sabots (250 & 300 gr) and still have only gotten about two out of thirty shots on a 4x8 sheet of plywood at 50yards? I'm using a table to steady, am I that bad? Or could the gun be off that much? Open sights...I'm starting to get a little frustrated! HELP!!!
I wasn't going to put a scope on this gun but what are other peoples thoughts? I live in Iowa where legal but want to take the gun to Colorado where not?

Green,I would say that If you are new to MLing,my guess would be you are probably pulling the gun when you fire.after several shots I catch nyself doing the same.(big differance in shooting a trap gun and a ML)maybe take an extra minute or two between shots and see how it works out.and the amout of powder may have some bearing on it also...most guys are using around 100grs max even though t says you can uses 150 grs.I started wit h125 grs of pyrodex,,,,,WOW backed off to 100.like to see the guy who soots 150grs!just my 2cents worth........good luck, and good safe shooting !

I usually shoot 90 grains of 777 and a 295 or 348 Powerbelt.I tried 125 grains once ! Man that thing is a cannon!
I just bouht a new T/C Omega and just have a cheap scope on it that I had laying arround . It did not take to many shots to have it grouping about 3 inch's at 100 yards. I run a spit patch down and out the bore between shots, helps keep the shots consistant along with putting a little lube on the bullets. I know they claim that Powerbelts need no lube, but I seem to get a little better accuracy with the lube.
Plan on having a new Nikon on it by next fall. For now ,I am going to Cabelas Monday to pickup a Williams peep sight for it for hunting Colorado next fall. Will replace the peep with a Nikon scope for Michigan Whitetails.
I shoot a remington genesis and I shoot 250 gr TC shockwave sabbots with 150 grains of 777 and I have no problem with shooting 3 inch groups at 100 yards. One thing I noticed on mine is that the front sight tends to move from side to side a little, I have a scope on mine so I never really worried about it but it might be something you want to check.

3 pellets for 150 gr.... Ouch.. I tried it a few times and didn't see any gain from it other than a sore shoulder. I'll stick to two pellets or my most accurate load of 94 gr of 777.
To Green... Back to the basics on a gun that won't shoot. Tighten all screws.. clean the barrel, and I do mean clean..Use JB pastes to polish your bore. Check your crown for dings. It's entirely possible to have a bad crown. The crown should look even, smooth & symmetrical. Last but not least, are you seating the bullets to the same depth every time? You need to mark your ram rod for this. Any slight variation will change your point of impact. If ya did all these ,, take the gun back ya got a lemon.
