I have a 1998 Honda cr 250 dirtbike im going to be selling and I was wondering how much it was worth, it has hardly been used the past three years is in pretty good condition has an aftermarket pipe, many pro circuit brand parts including the wheels and parts of the frame, the tires are in good condition and I have a paddle tire for it. I really dont know a whole lot at all about dirt bikes and really have no idea how much it is worth, any information would be appreciated.

I don't know much about dirt bikes either, but a place you might want to check is cycletrader.com to find what others are selling them for. I just did a quick search on Honda cr 250's and see that 2002 models are listed for around $2,500... I would also look at Ebay to see what they are selling for, looking at completed auctions will give you an idea of what they actually sold for, looks to me like the ones that sold were around $1,000..... Not sure that will help you any but might at least give you a starting point...

For a 1998 CR250 you can expect to get real world pricing at around $1000 - $1200 depending on the condition as perceived by the buyer. 2-strokes don't sell for much these days.

The aftermarket parts are nice, but don't add anything to the value. In many cases, they bring it down a bit as the buyer then perceives the bike was ridden hard or raced at some point in it's life.

What will help is knowing the last time the top end was rebuilt and that all the fuilds and other maintenance was done on a regular basis.

I'm guessing you aren't the original owner.
