I had a CVA inline for about 6 months - shot powerbelts in there and was cutting bullet holes at 75 yards (furthest I could get from the target) - sold it to a buddy who was in need of a muzzie at the time.

Hi Russ, I shoot a 45 cal percussion for deer in NY. I've taken several with it and I use a round ball and patch with 60-75 grains of triple F black. Guess I've been kind of a purist with it. It is an old fashion style. But I did buy some bullets with sabots to try.........

I shoot a Penna. longrifle in .45 caliber, with 55grn of fffg behind patched round balls. So far, no deer has lasted more than 5 seconds on its feet after the flint hit the frizzen. Each ball has passed completely through.
