3rd Sat in Sept for bow, mid-Oct for muzzleloader, early Nov for rifle. Hunt until the middle of January.

It seems like an extensive season but we hunt in some of the thickest stuff imagineable. I have to take some pictures next time I'm out scouting and show a southern thicket.

WISCONSIN'S DEER SEASONS FOR 2008

Bow opens on Sept. 13th and runs til Nov. 20th (shutdown for gun deer) and reopens and runs from Dec. 1st thru Jan. 4th of 2009.

Gun deer is Nov. 22nd thru the 30th....DNR can extend it to meet quota.

Muzzy is Dec. 1 thru the 10th.

Youth Hunt is Oct. 10th & 11th

Antlerless only is Dec. 11th thru the 14th.

Already counting the days...

Alabama is pretty liberal:

Bow season runs from mid October (around the 15th) to 31 Jan.

Gun season runs from mid November (around the 18th) to 31 Jan.

Hunter's choice days for gun hunters vary from one part of the state to another, anywhere from a week to nearly a month or perhaps more.

There's a special primitive weapons season sometime right before the gun season opens, but I'm not familiar enough with it to tell you more than that.

Michigan has archery opener at Oct 1 and the firearm opener at Nov 15. Archery runs up to the firearm opener. Firearm goes to Dec 1. Muzzleloader is sometime later in cold weather.

Ohio opens Archery the last Sat in Sept and it runs uninterupted throught the first week in Feb.

Shotgun is the Monday after Thanksgiving and runs for one week. A second weekend comes back in after giving the deer a 5 day break

Muzzleloader is usually the 27th of Dec through the 30th of Dec.

This is general dates. There are special hunts that I am not sure of the dates ( youth, early muzzleloader) etc....

i hope they do extend the gun deer season ! where did u hear about it ?
