Just getting into muzzleloading and have kind of settled on two models. I like the TC Omega and the TC Encore. While I like the price of the Omega better, I am also interested in ability to change it into a single shot rifle. Looking at the pros and cons I find the Omega might be better as it looks easier to clean (don't need to take the barrel off), but would i regret buying it?

You can't go wrong either way, to be honest. The Encore is nice, and it does give you options with other barrels. Plus it is pretty easy to clean too. The Omega is a tack-driver and is a nice handling gun. It's a great choice if you're looking for just a muzzleloader.
If you have a chance, see which one feels the best to you. Maybe that will help. There's also an in-line ML buyer's guide on this site that might help.
I myself, like the Omega a bit better, but that's just me.

both guns are good but i would go with the omega because it is probably the one of the most accurate muzzleloader you can buy and the omega is realy easy to clean. The Encore is a good rifle but you are not going to get the accuracy you can get from the omaga because of the way the forestock is made.

Ok, you've got me now...
What do you mean about the fore stock on an Encore? I'm curious.

I ended up buying an Omega, saved myself enough money to buy a good scope. I think what he means with the forestock and accuracy is that the barrels on the Encore are not as long, so you don't get as much velocity and twist. I am happy with my Omega.

I presently own 9 muzzleloading rifles and do not regret buying any of them, they are all fun to shoot. My only regret is that I have sold some great ones in the past!

I dont get all this hoopla about the encore and changing the barrels!!
I personally would rather have 4 guns in the corner vs. One gun and 3 barrels in the corner!!
Love my omega talked 4 friends into buying one and working on the 5th!!!!
Long Live the WSM!!!

Dont just purchase the omega over the encore because of easier cleaning . Yoy can purchase an e-z tip extractor made by TC for about 15.00. Easy to install and allows you to clean the barrel without removing.

I also shoot muzzle loaders. But use traditional guns which are historically accurate for the muzzle loader periods of either Flint-Lock or Percussion Cap.
In Alaska, there is no compelling reason to shoot a muzzle loader that is really a modern arm built to circumvent (or comply with) certain hunting regulations.
But, I also use a handmade English Longbow at times, with hand made arrows. So I am probably odd....

I like the Omega, and have taken deer with it. It's accurate, no-fuss/no muss. I really like the way you put the primer in position, without the use of any tools. Bought one for myself, and one for each son, and my son-in-law for Christmas one year.
Someone else said it, but I too would rather have four different guns, than one gun that swaps out barrels. I know it's the rage right now, but I'm not going there. Like Rooster, I've made the mistake of selling guns I wished I hadn't, and I won't make that mistake again. Guess I'm a "collector" now. LOL
Of course, if the liberal dem's get their way, you may have to go to a "system" gun, when your gun rights are restricted to one gun per household, or whtever kind of nonsense they'll try next. I won't be giving up mine, and you can quote me on that. Now let me get down of this soap box...
Hunt safe & Merry Christmas,
Kyle
