Has any one had one of the newer made Ruger 77/22 Hornets? I had two from from the first couple of years of production and they were real losers in the accuracy department. Both had throats that precluded getting the bullet within .070 of the lands. No handload or factory ammo shot under 2 1/4 inches at 100 yards. I have heard that the new ones are better, but, I have not talked to anyone that has a recently manufactured rifle.

Just finished working up aload for a guy. Never in my life have I had so much trouble getting a load to shoot halfway accurate. Took me 8 months of trying different loads to get it to shoot 1.5 in. groups. In my opionion a gun that will not shoot 3/4 in. groups is unsatisfactory. I have been reloading for 27 yrs. so I don't claim to know it all but I do know little bit . I would pick another calibre myself.
