I used to use Sierra Matchking 120's in my 6.5 06 and 6.5x55 as my deer bullet. Regular soft points just blew through them without opening up. I have found a new favorite the last 3 or 4 years in Nosler ballistic tips. They shoot well and blow up very well, and genrally in a 120 grain bullet we recover 65 or 70 grain jackets with some lead in them and the lead generally makes soup of the organs and usually leaves out the other side. I'm not talkiing just small deer either. We have shot a cuople in the 200lb plus range and numerous in the 150lb to 175 lb range including a couple of doe that size.

Sorry about my post. I thought I clicked on reloading, not muzzle loading. I have always used round balls, in a 50 cal in front of 100 grains of double f goex black powder.

I hunt the Michigan muzzleloader season with a T/C Renegade Left Hand and shoot 100 grains of Pioneer Powder FFF and patched round ball,or my Knight with a hollow point bullet .
Thinking of my NEF Huntsman and some thing it will shoot well for an Iowa deer hunt if I draw.I have never shot this rifle and will be starting with Powerbelts and Hornady bullets and see what it does.
For my Colorado elk I will be using my Knight LK93 50 cal with 348 Powerbelt and 105 grains of Triple 7 , this rifle is a real good shooter!

I have to second the shockwave. I use the 200gr over 115 grains of APP FFg.
