I'll shoot sights with a release once in a while for the the heck of it. For the most part, I shoot instinctive with my compound. Either with a release, or fingers. I'm currently shootin' fingers. When I shoot with a release, I shoot Ted Nugent style. If you've seen him shoot, you'll notice he has 4-5 eliminator buttons above and below his arrow nock on the string and he has a release loop right under the bottom eliminator buttons. The low nock point made sense where the amo hole is a bit higher than the top of your hand. I tried shooting that way with the string loop around the arrow nock and the arrow hit high. Nocking low brings the nock point of your arrow up a bit and levels the arrow. That made the improvement. I always wondered if shooting like that would cause problems in arrow flight. If anything it would be minimum if at all because Ted has been shooting this way for years and it seems to work fine for me too.
