Colorado matt,I just got a marlin v .17 a few months ago. I really like it alot! woks great on all your
small game. been songdog( coyote's) hunting all winter have'nt took one yet with the .17! I have a 3x 9x 32 on it now now going to up grade the scope and maybe put bipod on it. it's pretty accurate there's a few brand of bullet's out there too . also my .17 has a bull barel and wood stock. what's your's? well to bad u live over in the eastern side! i'm over here on the western slope! have a couple of great place's for dog's . u could spend awhole day at one of these place's and not hurt the population. well Matt I just thought I would drop u a few lines.
Sense you are from Colorado too, which so am I.

Best you can do is drive 'round til you see some dogs and then ask. Most ranchers welcome pdog shooters for the good of their cattle.

Chavez,
Yep it's a marlin just like yours it sounds like. I did get a sweet 17 scope by bsa 3x7 32. I will try some place by sportmans paradise if ya know where that is. Where on the western slope are you? and where are the dog towns?rem700 I have been dooing some driving but no luck and it takes a lot of time. I did join a range/club that does some dog shooting. should be fun.

Cheers,
Matt
