Scrat what's next on your want list???? Here's a couple of my toys, not muzzle loaders but close as they are early .22 cal. side arms; a small six shot pepperbox and a Sharps 4 barrel.

Oh here's one of my originals, a "1776 American Officers Pistol" made by Simen North in 1778 per proof marks and arms markings.

I have that same reproduction 1851. It's a lot of fun. Remember to bore butter all the cylinders. We were shooting one day and did not and 3 or 4 went off at once. Mine is pretty accurate. It shoots high but consistent groups.

If your looking for an accurate revolver, check with your local tool guy for a reamer the same size as your cylinder bores. Ream each cylinder bore so they are all the same size, you'll be surprised at the difference in size on some of the chamber holes on the manufacturers weapons.

Scrat,

I've had one of those 1851's from Cabelas for probably 15 years. I still love it. I've probably put over 1000 balls through it and the only thing I've changed is nipples. And from day 1 to today it always shoots about 8" high and 6" to the left at 25 yards with a .451 ball and 30 grains of FFF. Can cover the pattern with a playing card even with my shaky hands :) As suggested, be sure to grease over the balls after you load to prevent chain fires. Saw one do it once (not mine), and I'd rather not ever see it again. Scared the $#!% out of everybody and kind of messed up the guys gun. Have fun and be sure to "read and follow lable directions."

Good to here CRETEHAM. I always treat my guns like they are brand new. Even with some of them being over 40 years old. When they get used they get properly cleaned oiled and well maintained. So i am expecting this revolver to last a long long time.

Scat,

We had a gentleman come in with an early "punk gun" (market hunter's weapon from the early 1800's). This one was an 8 bore flintlock that was approximately 5 foot long, these where used in the old flat bottom boats that market hunters used on the different bays like Chesapeak Bay. They would slide into a bunch of ducks then touch this big bore off killing large amounts with one shot.

The older fellow had the gun and a great storage horn (sailing ship period from the markings and scrimshawing). The horn was worth more than the gun, a thing of beauty. We offered a pretty good price for the pair but he had a collector that really wanted that horn and went higher than we wanted to offer. Difference between wholesale and retail was the problem, if we paid as high as the top bid (no room to resell and make a small profit).

Look at these pictures of a really true toy guys, early American Art at its best.

I wouldnt give a bucket of crap for one of those. I bought one some years ago, cabelas sent me 3 replacements and all of them were bad. Its a horrible pistol.

wow thats a great thing to say on a cabelas site. well i have fired it twice now. put well over 100 rounds through it and it works very good. I guess it all depends on how you treat them. Same time now i have a uberti Walker, a Petta 1851, a CVA 1860. All three work fine. just have to treat them good. As they are based on designs that are well over 140 years old and more. the walker is 1847
