Crock pots are great, just put a venison roast in the crock pot, toss in some potatoes or whatever other veggies you want and some spices like garlic and put it on low. Be careful with some crock pots, many have been recalled because they like to start house fires when left unattended.

Hey Jim, You may also try some Cream of mushroom soup with the venison, along with onions and garlic. Mushrooms just GO with Venison. Try some wild morels if you can get ahold of some. MMMMM
Jim, these guys are right on track. To enhance the flavor of the meat, try browning the meat in a frying pan, or in a pre-heated 400 degree oven before putting it in the crock pot to cook tender.
You will need to put a little butter on the meat to help it brown. If you choose the oven browning method, slice some onions over the meat. At this heat, they will carmelize, giving great flavor to the meat. After you mix in the BBQ sauce, soup, or whatever else you do to provide a sauce for the crock pot, you should have a wonderful meal ready when you get home.
