I'm going to replace the original wood stock on my Wby MkV .300 Wby mag with a synthetic. Any recs on a good replacement? Preferences of H-S Precision, Bell & Carlson, or McMillan? Have you fitted one? Degree of difficulty? I'm leaning towards H-S and heard B&C tend to break at the tang.

I've used the Band C stocks with great success. The only one I have actually seen broken was on a 300WM when the guy rolled his 4wheeler and the gun was on it in the boot. It broke the stock and bent the barrel.
if you go with the high end and aluminum bedding block, it's even tougher.
You may also want to look at the Weatherby synthetic stocks. I know they have them for the vanguards.
BTW, my 325WSM has a BandC stock on it right now and it is absolutely awsome...its the medalist model.
