Does anyone have any good Jerky recipies. I use a hydrator for 5 hours and the Flavor is just not enough. I don't want a smoker or anything just a recipie to add to the spice. I added hamburger from a steer we butchured and that was good. Hickory and BBQ sauce added really made the jerkey good. Just want to try some new ones anybody got any for elk or Deer.

For 2 lbs of meat, sliced 1/4" thick:
2 tblsp Worcestershire
1 tblsp soy
2 tblsp ground pepper (fresh)
1 tsp red pepper sauce
2 tsp liquid smoke
From there you can add your own touch, such as onion and garlic powder, cajun seasoning, salt, sugar etc. Just add 3-4 cups of water when you put your meat in and let it marinade for 24 hrs, stirring it up every 2-3 hrs. Then pat dry with paper towels and use your usual drying method.

I use to have one that had a cup of Maker's Mark whiskey in it. Really do not like to use it after I took some to work and my breath smelled like whiskey for awhile! The boss did not like the idea!

Just curious? I am from New Orleans and wonder if you all
from different areas of the country, hey world, can get the
various Louisiana hot sauces and cajun seasonings in your
local grocery stores. It seams so common for us here but
don't think about elswhere. And if you don't would you want them?
Spicy food is a little more widespread now.
Makes incredible Jerkey and marinades for barbeque anything.
Let's here from you---say what part of the country your from!
