Has anyone hunted Prince of Wales Island for bears in the fall (probably september)? The spring definately seems to be the most popular time to go, but I was just wondering if anyone had any fall experience there. I would assume that the bears would really be keying on the salmon and a guy might be able to get pretty close. Was also wondering if the bears key on the berries up high that time of year - If that's the case, then maybe a deer/bear combo hunt might be a good choice.

I'm confused...

Prisioner of war bears?

Who's taking bears prisioner?

Do they come quietly, or do they struggle?

I didn't even know we were enlisting bears in the service.

Sorry Coug, couldn't help myself. been a stressful day...

Just from what I've heard, you might be on to something really cool with a fall combo hunt.

Isn't POW Island a great place to go for a cheap hunt? I've heard of guys doing it for under $2,000. For a travel hunt, that's pretty good.

HA!
Yooper, you're a funny guy.

POW from what I've heard can be a lot of $$$ and work. But if you can do it right, it'd be a cool trip. I'd call an ADF&G biologist up there and see if you can get the scoup.
