I'm relatively new to turkey hunting, I've been hunting them for about 3 or 4 years now, and have always used just one hen decoy. I've seen countless turkey hunting dvd's and shows and they use both a jake and a hen in most situations. What do you guys use? What works? Does using a jake decoy scare non-dominant toms away that aren't looking for a fight? Also, what kinds/brands of decoys are you using? Thanks all in advance. 35 DAYS till turkey bow season starts in NE, can't wait!!!!!

A jake decoy is a nice addition to your setup. If you really want to dirve the big toms crazy set your jake and hen up as if they were breeding. I have used that setup on almost every tom I have taken. The big toms will literly flog the jake decoy.

s-unit is right in my opinion, but i use a single jake most of the time early into the season, i've taken some bigo toms 10"+ plus beards, i hunt private land so i uze a gobbler alot, and i tell u, mixin it up like that iz killer. but i have had big toms come in and shy away from a jake decoy, some older toms, long beards and spurs and all dont want to fight those 3 year old bad boyz. if ya no where a bigo boyz hangin out at midday, mayby callin soft and a sweet little hen decoy jest the thing. jest mix it up , therze never a sure fire way any thing can and will happen in the turkey woodz, thatz why i love it!!!!!so good luck flirtin with the tomz spring.
