Mtn lion meat?

I read somewhwere that cougar meat was considered a delicasy by the mtn men. Has anyone ever tryed it and how did it taste?

Enough tequila any thing tastes good! No really I've had it several times ,it would be difficult for someone to tell a center cut out of a porkchop from a slice of backstrap from a lion.

We usually eat the backstraps from the younger cats, watch4bear is right about the pork similarities.

My son shot a mt. lion on a bowhunt a few years ago and we ate the backstraps. Very delicate flavor and looked exactly like pork.
