Yes, Creed is in GMU 76. I am not familiar with Wolf Creek Pass. But, that is why I am looking for information. I have several topo maps of areas that are in 76 but it would be benificial to correspond with someone who has actually hunted in the unit. I have hunted elk in Colorado for the last 13 years and have killed several bulls. The muzzleloader hunt is with hopes to shoot a 300+ bull. Any info you can share with me would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I hunted in the unit right next to it. The continental divide is the unit boundry. I came in from the West fork of the San Jaun and packed in. There were a lot of elk I could not get to because they were in that unit 76 right on top of the divide. There is a shortcut in there, a trailhead, it is a side road to a resavoir going up wolf creek pass towards Pagosa Springs.Any way go to the end of that road and take the trail into the top, about 6 miles I think. You can hunt off the east side and there are plenty of elk, plenty of wallows,Theres an outfitter that hunts there also, Dilley? Colorado has changed and a guy has to sound like an elk anymore, the kazoo callers have them pretty wise even in the draw units a guy needs to sound good. If you can see on your map the name of that resevoir I will know it. Im in alaska now and of little help.

Big Meadows Reservoir is correct. I see on my map that there are a couple of creeks that drain into the reservoir. What is the terrain like. Dark timber and open parks?
Thanks,

Alpine meadows, patches of dense timber, lots of creeks and seeps, one snowflake and the elk drop out of there to lower elevation.Black powder you will not have that problem. We even saw a wolverine in there.
