what is the best way to cook deer sausage in the oven or stove top and what is the process. I don't have a grill or fire

I have the majority of my deer meat each year processed into sausage which we eat with everything from pasta to eggs. It is the best cooked on the grill, but not all that much worse cooked on the stove. I just cook it on low so it doesn't burn and move em'around the pan with tongs so I don't puncture the casing. Hope this helps.

I cut the link into small cylinder pieces and sort of butterfly it, then do it in the cast iron skillet, or I cook it in the cast iron with water in the bottom.
