I own a Remington 700 with the 26" Bull Barrel. I was wondering about a good load to start with. I would like to shoot either 50 or 55 Grain V-Max Bullets.

Pick up the Hornady reloading manual. They will have good starting loads and some additional data concerning where to start. Every rifle will be a little different.

I own a 700 remington vs 22-250, and use a 50 gr. V-Max bullet 39.8 Win. 760 powder WLR primer. Best I found so far.

I find H380 between 38 and 41 grains work well.

I second the reccomendation to pick up a Hornady reloading manual. The powder I use isn't a powder one usually thinks of for the .22-250, but I have gotten the best accuracy with several brands and weights of bullets in my model 700 using IMR 4895. My current load (max load) is 35.5 gr IMR 4895 and 55gr Hornady SPSX. Like always when someone gives you a load not listed in a reloading manual, decrease the powder charge by 10% and work up to make sure it is safe in your rifle.

I have two 22-250's both shoot the same load with the Hornady 55 gr V max, 33gr IMR 3031, Not a benchrest load, but coyotes and prairie dogs out to 300 yards wish i didnt use it.

dlutter gave you very good advice.
