Which of the Powerbelt bullets would be best for whitetails? Poly tip or hollow point? What weight?

BTW, that is in .50 cal.

A friend of mine has used both for deer and elk. According to him they both work very well for either animal. He also let me know that the poly tips gave him a greater distance of accuracy as well as a tighter grouping.

I used the poly tipped bullets last season and they seemed to do the job OK. I did lose a doe but it was unfortunately a gut shot and I am the one to blame in that instance. It did just fine on a doe I hit through the chest though. She went down after about 40 yards. She didn't leave much of a blood trail though even though the bullet went all the way through, I was a little surprised by that.

I've used both and feel the accuracy is about the same untill you get beyond the 100 yard mark. After that the aerotip bullets seem to perfrom better. I sure like the way they perfrom on game.

My Thompson Center Encore shoots the plastic tipped aero model significantly better than the hollow point model. Groupings are 1-2 inches at 100 yards vs. 2-4 inches.

I shoot a CVA Kodiak and use 348 grain aero tip and 105 grains of 777. Has done a great job on several deer and I am using same load for elk this next fall.

I use the 240gr aero-tip in front of three triple seven pellets in my Encore. Takes a lot to kill a Moose, and I always go loaded for bear. Never know when I'll run into a Grizz.

I use the 295 gr aerotip in front of 105 grs of Triple 7 with my Omega on deer and elk. I'd be a bit skeptical with using the hollow points on elk sized animals. Not saying that they wouldn't work, but elk are big, tough critters and I don't think that the penetration would be all that great with the hollow points.

295 aero tip and 105 of triple 7,same load I plan on using on Elk and deer this fall. Really does the job on Whitetails. The 295 and 348 really puts them down. Both are good but I get a little better accuarcy from the 295.

I'd go with the aerotips. They will give you a little less drop than the hollow points. I've used both types and they have performed flawlessy for me and my CVA .50.

Only problem with the Powerbelt Bullets is the high cost. If you do much target shooting it gets expensive.
