I've recently inherited a Meachum side by side 12 ga. shotgun. It says Climax on the barrel. At least 40 years old. Single shot .410 says Star Leader on it. One .410 from the Crescent Arms Co. and a Stevens Model 38b bolt .410. Can anbybody tell me about these guns?

That Meachum is a lot older than 40 years!!!
E.C. meachum arms company was a big trader back in the 1880s through the early 1900s.
There is also a current Meachum tool and rifle maker.
E.C. Meachum had big stores like Sears or Western auto. It was a place to buy rifles, pistols, powder, bicycles and sporting goods. The MANs store....
They marketed guns under various trade names like , Alaska, Guntraders and Ajax Army.
Some of their 10 guage guns are marked E.C.M.A.
E. C. MEACHAM ARMS CO. 515 Washington Ave., St. Louis, Mo
I hope this helps. Go to the SASS site to see if anyone knows more...
