I love savage rifles. The adjustable muzzle break works by turning it or twisting it to reduce recoil and increase noise, turn it back to keep the recoil and manageable noise.
I think savages are one of the most accurate out of the box rifle there is. I currently own 3 of them.

Savage makes a great out of the box rifle, for sure. One of the best factory button rifled barrels around.
Browningx44x, I got your PM earlier, but you've got PM's blocked in your profile, so I can't respond. Unblock them and I'll tell you whatever you need to know.

I have a 16FSS accutrigger mounted withe a Bushnell Elite 3200 and Leupold rings and it was very accurate right out of the box. My son has an 11fcxp3 package that had the scope factory installed with no accutrigger. That one need more adjusting to get in zeroed. At 25 yards we needed to go 4 clicks down and 8 clicks right. We went out to 100 yards and couldn't hit the target, finally figured out the scope was loose from the factory. It's good now after some frustration. Now it shoots in 1 in groups 1 inch high and 1 inch right.

I have a savage in a 270 and am quite pleased with it out of the box. I havent been able to spend enought ime at the ranget to fine tune it yet, but for just being bore-sighted, it is very accurate.

I own a SAVAGE rifle that I have hunted all over North America with and it is as accurate today as when I bought it 35 years ago.
