Newby with a question. I'm shooting a Reflex Bighorn (?) Bought the thing a few years back and then got busy and it sorta got stuffed away. Took it out this a.m. Group at 20 yard was super tight for me 1.5" or so. At 30 however things get funky. Group is still tight but way to the left of where I'm aiming. Any ideas? Again dead on center of target at 20 yards, tight groups at 30 however everything is pulled way left, like about 4".

Confused.

Just a guess but if the sights are lined up all the same and you aren't seeing any arrow kick - then you may just need to move your sights left - as you get further away from the target slight adjustments make a big difference. You could try and shoot at 40 and see where it hits...........

Do your broadheads fly the same way as your field points? Have you paper tuned your bow? Is there a level bubble on your sight to avoid bow torque? Are your vanes/feathers fletched all the same? It might need slight tuning for windage. If you see your arrow moving erratically left and right after release, something is out of tune. Easton archery has bow tuning charts online. Some of the other members here helped me with a similar problem. My problem was with elevation though.

Try to paper toon the bow. I tape a piece of paper over a square two feet in front of the target. Shoot through it at 10 yard intervals out to your hunting distance. If the bow string and rest are not lined up the arrow will sway left or right. If the knock and rest are not lined up, the arrow will sway up or down. When it passes through the paper. It will rip the paper showing the flight of the arrow. Make adjustments so the arrow will pass through and create the smallest hole. It is very easy but takes a little time. Sights do make a big diffrence. If you shoot a little left at 10 yards, it will be way off at 40. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

The sight does have a level on it. Yes the sight pins are all lined up. Is it normal for the pins to be left or right of each other based on range?

I think my first step may be to have the arrows re-fletched, followed by the paper test.

Oh ya, haven't put an broad heads through it yet. Must confess I was feeling pretty good about myself at 20 yards for no more experience that I've got. The whole 40 yard thing brought me back to reality.

All the pins should be lined up - so if you need to shift move the entire sight not just one pin left -
If you are grouping 1.5" groups at 20 yards I would guess your bow to be pretty close to being tuned.

Check your arrow rest. Your arrow sitting on the rest needs to be perfectly perpendicular to the riser. Noch an arrow, and look down on your bow from above. If the arrow seems to be pointing anywhere other than straight ahead, that could be the problem. Adjust the rest accordingly.

arrow rest
vane clearance
cushion plunger
correct arrow shaft

could be any or all of the above, but your bow is not tuned properly if your shooting form is correct and your arrow moves right to left.

I would guess your form is the ticket. Shooting at 40 yards, your form needs to be dead on. Anchor position and bow hand position need to be consistent and repeatable. If you are using a round pin guard on your sight, make sure the pin guard is centered, not the individual pins. Your form should resemble the letter T. Make sure you have a loose grip on the bow, as torque can cause misses as well. Make sure that you have a solid anchor point, creeping can also cause misses.
