Lets talk rests! Which ones do you have? Do you like them? Which ones didn't you like?

And at he end of the post could you give me some recommendations for an arrow rest?

I have one like this, not exactly the one I have but its like it, it works fine I'v never had a problem with it, I might look about getting a whisker buiscuit though. When you get your new set up take some pics of it and post it.

I have a rest like slipknot4542's. It's called the premier hunter. They aren't complicated and it's easy to tune myself. But most of all they are RELIABLE. I would recommend these rests to anyone. The drop away rests are too expensive and too complicated.

I use AMO's Berger button with the fipper rest best rest I have ever seen. No need for 50-100 plus rest that don't perform as well as the $20 rest. I have seen them all in action in countless leagues 3d shoots and clubs. I hunt and thats the test it must pass.

I've shot whisker biscuits and they are great. People say that they tear the vanes off. Never happened to me. Shooting cheap arrows, maybe?

Do they slow the fps?

Do they slow the fps?

I couldn't tell the difference. I changed to a QAD Pro drop away, though. Just wanted something different.

Why do drop aways cost so much?

its all personal opinion. yes whisker biscuts do slow your arrow down by about 5-10 fps. they are also noisy.(when you draw your arrow back it rubs against the wiskers an makes a little noise). i use to shoot one till i went to draw back on a deer and it herd me and took off. it was about 10 yards out from my tree stand and it was quite that day to(no wind or anything).i replaced it with a trophy taker drop away Xtreme Top Slot. its vary quite and built well. it costs a little bit but its worth it i think.

No offense, but I'd never seen a wb slow an arrow by 5-10 fps...

none taken but it really does slow fps. i have a crono and i was shooting 278 with a wb. went to a drop away shot 285. i have alot of friends that say the same thing. i guess it all depends on setup.

Give WB a try. They're a lot easier to set up. I had a fit with my QAD before i got it right.
