hello my son shoots a bow set at 40 pound draw weight. We live in Pa and the regulation is no less that a 35 pound bow. I know we are legal but im just worried is it still gonna kill the deer like will it penatrate the deer?

You should be fine. I would try to find the heaviest arrow you can and shoot a cut on impact broadhead like the Muzzy Phantoms or Montec G5s. Those 2 things will give you much greater penetration.

Practice, practice, practice. Make the shot count and use sharp broadheads. 40 pounds has done the job with recurves and longbows.

You only need about 6 inches of penatration, you'll be fine, just get good arrow placement, my first two deer were killed pulling just over 30 pounds, and it worked out find deer ran less then 30 yards. I did get a past through, the arrow went in about 9 inches and did the job.

I don't know much about them but it looks like a good fixed blade/cut on contact broadhead and thats what you want for deep penetration.

I would make sure the broadhead meets the requirements for the State you are hunting. The sonic heads fly like darts and penetrate well.

Just my 2 cents, those are good heads, but with that draw weight I'd be looking for as much penetration as I could get. those heads will slow down quick and not give a 40# bow as much penetration as it could....they will work but something like the magnus stingers or steelforce blades will give you more performance. Also a 2 blade will give you better peneration then a 3 or four blade will (they don't bleed out as nice though). with that draw weight I would look into the magnus stinger, it will allow you son better performance out ther at 30 - 40 yards.
Again it's just my 2 cents.
Good luck and happy hunting

I agree a "Cut on Contact" fixed blade is what you want. Muzzy Phantoms are a Great Choice!! (thats what I shoot);)
Also there are many others like the Bear Razorheads and like was mentioned magnus stingers or steelforce.
