I assume Texashome you go to HS? At my old middle school no one has brought guns but they have brought knifes (switchblades inparticular) and lighters and they have gotten suspended or exspelled. At my HS i bet there are a few handguns floating around and there is definately drugs and knifes there (only 438 students). Texashome how many at your HS? Good job to the guy that reported him.

Not in HS. I'm in MS 8th grd. There's there like over a 1000 here. Over at the HS they have over 2000. Over at the HS. Guns are a common thing. Which is why they have metal detectors at ever entrance and exit. There's alot of wanna-be gangsters over here.

Oh and the guy who told is really a idiot too. Honestly, he always brags about having guns and crap right? Yet I talked to one of his best friends about it one time, and he has none at all. The kid is really pathetic.

There is no wanna-be gangsters here and no metal detectors. I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would bring a gun to school. At my HS (www.washingtonacademy.org) there used to be a skeet club for elidge members. I want to confront the school Admin. about starting it up again for only the following people. People that can demonstrate SAFE gun handling. You would have to have your own shotguns and have them transport to the range before the meet. Not sure if it would work but its worth a shot at it. But cases like this make it less and less of a chance.

He brought it for "display." Man I bet you his parents are MAD. Especially because that's his dads military gun. He's a guard out on post.

Sirs;
I also decry the bringing of guns to school by students.
But, I do think we neew a "school plan" for assaults!
This is complex. The Coach, Principal or other responsible staff should be first - trained, second identified by the local law enforcement agencies, and thirdly, armed! This would put a hindrance or a stop to "school shootings! I assure you, these people need the training that is real, the consequences are real and the student body should be lectured as to these changes and made "partners" with the armed school staff and a plan developed as what to do in the event of an incident by students or outsidrs!
Yea, this is harsh, but what is more important - letting our schools and students be like sheep or have them in cooperation with this policy so that any strange behaviour could be "nipped in the bud!"
I do not think it impossible for these staff are trained by REAL combat shooters to also in cooperation with the school board and students to be legaly "deputized" by local law enfocement officials. Perish the thought they would ever be needed but, if so, it is better than dozens of our innocent kids to be shot down by some idiot - fellas, there are plenty out "there!"

How times have changed, back in 1949-1953 I would have a shotgun, rifle or hand gun in the pickup when I drove 14 miles into high school. The firearms stayed in the pickup on the school groungs during the day. I would hunt while dirving home after school.
