This is my second year bow hunting. My first year I hunted with arrows I "inherited" from a friend. these inherited arrows are worn out. Fletchings coming off and some of them are bent slightly. Getting realy hard to hit a target with them. My bow is sighted in pretty well with these arrows so I want arrow that are as similar as possible. My question is what do the numbers on the shaft mean? I am currently shooting Easton XX78 Ultralite 2312. What numbers are good hunting arrows and why?

Need some more information on bow. Draw length, what poundage you are shooting. Or you can enter the data at http://www.eastonarchery.com/shaftSelector/hunting/ss.asp. The numbers on the shaft of 2312, the 23 is the outside diameter in 64ths of an inch- ie 23/64. The second number 12 is the wall thickness in 1000ths of an inch-ie 12/1000 or .012.

Everybody... all together now... 1...2...3...

Go to an archery shop and get fitted for the right arrow.
