On December 23rd, I lost a lifelong friend to cancer at age 53. Gordie was a sportsman in every sense of the word. He was known all across New England on the BASS circuit as one of the best anglers. His other passion was deer hunting and I was fortunate enough to share many hunts with him. I treasure the memories I have of deer hunts, crappie fishing in his bass boat, and jigging perch through the ice on Champlain and Lake George. Gordie leaves his mom & dad and brothers and sisters and hundreds of friends behind. He also leaves his wife Theresa, and daughters Brielle and Vanessa. Gordie is in a better place now, but I know it would mean a lot to him if a bunch of fellow sportsmen would say a prayer for his family to help them carry on. So, if you find it in your heart, please ask God to give his family the strength to get through their loss. Thanks

May the peace that passeth understanding guard their hearts.
Interestingly, the translation on the word guard in that verse can also be translated "stand sentry watch." So let them know that God's Angels have the perimeter this evening, rest easy.

I lost a close uncle this past year to cancer and almost lost my brother to it as well...I know what you and your family are going through and you are in my prayers along with the family. It is tough times but brighter days are ahead. I still get choked up when talking about my uncle and its been almost a year. The only change is now there can be laughter in our voices when we are remembering the little things that he used to say and do. God blessed you with a true friend and his family with a loving father and husband. Take care and pass on his heritage to a youngster...

Sir;
This is a tough one. I know, I lost my son 5 years ago to a drunk driver, and a dear friend, Mr. Parsons to cancerm at 53.
Old Gus in Lonesome Dove told the men when a boy was killed by water snakes, "boys, the only way to deal with death is to ride away from it."
I pray that all concerned will deal with this as well as possible - but I know how you feel! May God comfort all of you.
