remington 597

anyone have a 597 in 22 mag? I really am not fond of bolt actions in rimfire just feels chincy and I found a descent price on the 597 but dont know much about it is it good and reliable I want to shoot 30 gr vmaxs

Take a look at the archives of this site, I believe the 597 has been brought up before. IIRC, they had a feed problem, it has been talked about before. Click the link for one example.

if I could get a 10/22mag I would but they are hard to come by

I purchased a 597 for my kids to shoot last Christmas. No problem with feed as long as we shoot the CCI Mini Mags. We had a lot of feed issues with standard 22LR rounds. No issues since we started shooting the CCI Mini Mags.
