Seriously, though, most guns have a lever/button along the trigger guard or such that will release the mechanism.. I have to admit, I'm only familiar with Rem and Savage guns.

Your shotgun has a safety on the top of the receiver......MAKE SURE THE GUN IS UNLOADED!!!!!!!!!!! by physically inserting finger in chamber with pump pulled to the rear......then close pump and dry fire......your shotgun is now uncocked
MAKE SURE IT IS UNLOADED.....SAFETY FIRST!!!!

After thinking on it, pulling the trigger is probably the only to 'uncock' the gun. What ever little button or lever is under the action will only release the action so you can rack it.

Pull the trigger......................

I am not sure of your age as you dont have it posted on your profile and this isnt meant to be mean......but dont ever tell someone to "just pull the trigger"......its obvious by the question that he must not be to familiar with his weapon and may just go in there and pull the trigger without checking it properly....think before you say something.....this is how people get hurt/killed with firearms..........
Just think next time....thank you

Not to hijack the thread, but I can agree with you. I had originally meant it in jest, but you do have a point. I shouldn't assume others take the same precautions with guns. Did you get my pm?

Only rimfires are damaged by dryfiring. Your shotgun is a centerfire so you do not have to worry about damaging it by dryfiring.
